Pirts sessions are adapted to the individual needs and wishes of every Pirts lover to allow the regenerative process in body and spirit to take place.
Duration: approx. 4 hours

Pirts session includes:
• Warming your body with warm air or warm besoms, surrounded by plant fragrances
• Vibrating and rubbing your body with plant bundles that have been prepared especially for your session
• Body scrub with a mixture prepared especially for you
• Heating your body with steam or hot besoms
• Toughening your body - contrast procedure using herb water
• Swim in the pond or a shower (guided swimming is possible in suitable weather conditions)
• Swatting with a variety of besoms, made of different trees and plants
• Relaxing on a hay bed/cushion in the ambience of acoustic instruments
• Body massage with honey or other special Pirts ointments
• The Pirts session is concluded with rest, chat and refreshments (Ziedlejas herbal tea, homemade bread, fruit and honey).

The Pirts Master leads the session - s/he shows the group how to enjoy Pirts and performs one of the procedures (a scrub or swatting) on each individual.

The Healing Pirts Ritual is a special in-depth procedure, during which healing of psycho-emotional trauma and, if applicable, untangling of interpersonal relationship issues takes place.
This ritual utilizes complementary and alternative medicine as well as transpersonal methods of psychology. It also involves diagnostics and healing of physical trauma and health complications.
This ritual is suitable if you wish to attend to your emotions by ridding yourself of destructive conscious or subconscious issues - offense, anxiety, fear and others.
The healing ritual is suitable for one or two individuals. Please contact the Pirts Master in advance of the ritual. Working through complex or serious issues may require a healing course or repeated healing rituals.

Pirts Ritual for the Husband-to-be
A ritual to prepare the Husband-to-be for marriage duties, including advice and wishes of strength and wisdom. The Husband-to-be can be joined by their father, brother/-s and friend/-s (preferably those who are married).

Pirtīžas is an ancient ritual of great importance. It signifies a new branch of life sprouting from the family tree. The newborn baby is at the centre of the occasion, although parents might also wish to be pampered.
At Ziedlejas we offer this ritual for a friendly price, making it accessible for every family. Pirtīžas is performed during the initial months of newborn’s life with parents present.

We offer the following as part of this ritual:
• Initiation of parents into the ritual
• Preparation of the room and a herbal bath
• Tying (making) the first Pirts besom for the newborn
• The first bathing of the newborn in a warm Pirts
• Massaging the newborn with mother’s milk, pushing bristles from the skin and sprinkling the newborn with warm water
• Rocking the newborn, wrapped in a woollen or linen blanket (villaine), singing
• Ritualistic covering of the newborn with a Latvian belt and deity signs
• Warming, heating and gentle swatting of the mother with Pirts besoms
• An initiation of the Father into his new family role in Pirts
• Offering of wisdom from the Herb Woman (Zāļu Sieva) and the Pirts Master (Pirtnieks) to the parents
